Description
A pair of new forks springs to suit the 1981 Maico 490, made as direct replacements for the original springs that were fitted by the factory when new.
The highest spec material has been used to make these ~ 55CiSi ~ described as
“A high-performance, medium-carbon, chrome-silicon alloy spring steel. It is engineered specifically for high-stress, high-fatigue applications where dimensional stability and reliability under cyclic loading are critical.”
Sure, you can make them cheaper using suitable, lower grade material , but your ride deserves the best!
Ground ends, 4.1mm wire, 51 coils, 650mm in length ~ laser marked ~ OEM
I have got new seals if you are rebuilding the forks, get them here : https://classicandvintagesuspension.co.uk/product/41-7-fork-seals/
Top Tip : A top suspension expert has recommended that once the correct amount of oil has been added, you put 10 psi in each leg to get them close to their sweet spot.
You are buying a pair (two springs)
